1. When you go to the ATM, select a language other than your first or second language just to see if you can make it through the process without completely emptying your bank accounts.
2. Brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand. Just be sure to have a towel handy to clean up the mess you will surely make.
3. For one day, eat a piece of fruit with every meal. Also, drink only water for those meals. You will be shocked at how great you feel.
4. Go to the library and check out a book on a subject that you find interesting. Spend an hour just leafing through it, learning what you can. Then on your way home, stop and tell someone what you learned.
5. Attempt not to use the internet or your cellphone for a day. It will be really tough at first, but once you get past the initial unease, you will find that it’s very liberating.
6. Buy a magazine that you normally wouldn’t consider. I’m a guy who’s into technology and stuff and would normally purchase Wired or GQ. I might purchase a copy of Car and Driver magazine.
7. Don’t use any product in your hair. Just let it go and see how good or bad it looks by the end of the day.
8. Play Frisbee with the people at work on your lunch break. Or enjoy a game of Spoons. Or BS. Or Flip. Whatever you decide.
9. Go to the movie store and rent a movie that is older than you are. One of my favorite movies is “Dr. Strangelove.” It just happens to be more than twice as old as I am.
10. Try a food that you didn’t like as a kid, but never considered trying again. You might just discover a new favorite. Or realize that it’s worse than you remember. But, who cares, give it a try.
